Overall, I feel than in my first year, my performance was pretty average.
Right now, I feel that my capabilities as a programmer are far below what is expected out of a employee on the job market, but since i'm still in my first year and will have more time to grow, I think it's acceptable.
I believe that my current biggest shortcoming is that I am too lazy, i'm not using enough of my spare time practising programming or studying for exams. I'm currently trying to think of ways to push myself to work harder, since the course items will be getting harder and harder. I think one of the reasons that I am not struggling even more is that I took ICT in secondary school and thus have a decent foundation for what we are learning now. My first individual programming assignment turned out pretty good, but that is because I had done something similar before for DSEs, I should take more time to learn more about programming, instead of just relying on what I have already learned.
